We are seeking an experienced flood modeller with expertise in the application of a range of industry standard hydraulic methods, approaches and software applications to support flood mapping projects, including one or more of the following areas;  

• Emerging flood modelling techniques and applications, such as application of AI, ML, simulation libraries for flood modelling 
• Proficiency in data analysis and software for the purpose of joint probability analysis 
• The modelling of natural and artificial structures / breach scenarios and/or reservoir inundation 
• Development of guidance to support customer use of our products and services. 
• A passion for developing and mentoring staff 

Respect for your expertise

This is a highly important role within our Data, Evidence & Innovation portfolio, which means you’ll need: 

• Degree in appropriate scientific discipline or equivalent experience  
• Extensive experience and expertise in the application of a range of industry standard hydraulic methods, approaches and software applications to support flood mapping projects 
• Good professional experience in hydraulic modelling applications to support flood hazard mapping projects 
• Effective technical project management skills, with experience of mentoring and developing staff 
• Experience in guidance development and proficient user of GIS 
• Full UK Driving Licence & driving essential to role
