We are seeking an experienced flood modeller with expertise in the application of a range of industry standard hydraulic methods, approaches and software applications to support flood mapping projects, including one or more of the following areas;

Emerging flood modelling techniques and applications, such as application of AI, ML, simulation libraries for flood modelling
Proficiency in data analysis and software for the purpose of joint probability analysis
The modelling of natural and artificial structures / breach scenarios and/or reservoir inundation
Development of guidance to support customer use of our products and services.
A passion for developing and mentoring staff

Respect for your expertise

This is a highly important role within our Data, Evidence & Innovation portfolio, which means you’ll need:

Degree in appropriate scientific discipline or equivalent experience
Extensive experience and expertise in the application of a range of industry standard hydraulic methods, approaches and software applications to support flood mapping projects
Good professional experience in hydraulic modelling applications to support flood hazard mapping projects
Effective technical project management skills, with experience of mentoring and developing staff
Experience in guidance development and proficient user of GIS
Full UK Driving Licence & driving essential to role
