We are recruiting for a full time People Advisor role on a fixed term basis for 12 months

Work that goes beyond your desk

  • Providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and colleagues on a range of people-related matters, ensuring alignment with policy and best practice
  • Managing a caseload of employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance, supporting fair and timely outcomes
  • Supporting the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current employment legislation
  • Producing clear and concise documentation, including letters, reports and guidance materials, translating complex information into accessible content
  • Building effective working relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and supporting people-related decision making
  • Maintaining accurate People records, systems and case documentation in line with data protection and organisational requirements
  • Monitoring trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR processes, policies and employee experience
  • Contributing to HR projects, initiatives and wider organisational activities as required
  • Working collaboratively as part of the HR team, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, inclusive environment that enables collective success and high-quality service delivery

 

Respect for your expertise

This is a highly important role within our People, Workspaces & Development portfolio, which means you’ll need:

  • Qualified to SCQF Level 8–10 (e.g. minimum HND) with CIPD (or working towards) or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation, with the ability to apply this in a practical, business-focused way
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence advising and influencing managers at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage a varied employee relations caseload, applying sound judgement and a pragmatic, people-focused approach to achieve fair and consistent outcomes
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple deadlines
